In light of the San Antonio Spurs' recent return to a familiar place, that is, the NBA Finals, Creative Civilization CEO Al Aguilar was recognized in a San Antonio Express-News article for creating the NBA franchise's beloved chant "Go Spurs Go."
Without Al's influence and knack for persuasion, the catch phrase would have been "Ready to Go," but when the Spurs made it to the 1999 NBA Finals, Al suggested his variation on the phrase to Spurs executives. After some convincing, the now familiar "Go Spurs Go" was accepted as the franchise's slogan.
