Today, Creative
Civilization Chairman and CEO Al Aguilar will accept the national 2012 Hispanic Marketing
Achievement Award at the 16th Annual Hispanic
Marketing Midwest Conference in Minneapolis, Minn.. This prestigious
award is presented annually to a leader who exemplifies extraordinary vision
and commitment to the profession through creative strategies and new
perspectives that advance the Hispanic marketing industry.
Nationally
known as a pioneer of Hispanic marketing, Aguilar has been at the forefront of
leading marketing for many of America’s largest brands. He is also responsible
for leading the next generation of Hispanic marketers gaining responsibility
for total market solutions. His agency, Creative Civilization, has been at the
forefront of this evolution.
As the head of the award-winning advertising agency, Creative Civilization, Aguilar was selected by his peers to be recognized for his accomplishments throughout the years and his continued contributions to strengthening the industry.
Aguilar’s distinctive career
began at an early age when he became inspired by advertising legend David
Ogilvy and his “Confessions of an Adman.” Aguilar pursued his
advertising education at the University of Texas at Austin, and embarked on his
career which led him to become part of the first-ever Hispanic marketing
department for Coca-Cola USA, and eventually a principal of Sosa, Bromley,
Aguilar & Associates, the largest Hispanic advertising agency in the United
States.
As a recipient of the
prestigious 2012 Hispanic Marketing Achievement Award, Aguilar has also been
asked to speak to client, agency and media industry leaders from around the
country, providing his expertise on the future of Hispanic marketing in a
presentation titled, “Survive or Thrive? Confessions of a Hispanic Ad
Man.”
His
rich history of Hispanic marketing leadership includes both client and agency
experience working with national clients such as General Motors, Procter &
Gamble, Anheuser-Busch, Sprint and American Airlines, to name a few.
He
is a founding member of the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA)
and served as the third Chairman of AHAA where he led the successful “VOTO”
outreach campaign in building Latino voter registration and participation in
the U.S. Aguilar also served as the founding Chairman of the American
Association of Advertising Agencies’ (AAAA’s) Hispanic Committee.
Career
milestones include being named Agency of the Year, twice by AdWeek
Southwest and being named the first recipient of the Advertising Executive of
the Year award by HispanicAd.com.
Through his leadership at
Creative Civilization, Aguilar continues to revitalize the platform of Hispanic
marketing through the Aguilar Strategy Model™ (ASM), a disciplined process
designed to develop effective communication platforms that are true to the
brand and relevant to the consumer. He leads his team with the mantra “Inspiration
